Day -1 Wednesday Reporting

The luxurious journey
begins at the Delhi Cantonment Railway station. You will be accorded a
warm, traditional welcome before boarding on Palace on Wheels.
Day -2 Thursday Arrival 2.00 hrs.Dep.19.30 hrs
Palace on Wheels will take
you to your first destination, Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan
and popularly known as the "Pink City". It was founded by Maharaja
Sawai Jai Singh II, in1727 A.D.
Explore this beautiful city in an air-conditioned coach and enjoy the
architectural excellence of its beautiful structures like Amer Palace,
City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal and several other heritage
buildings. Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds is a remarkable five
storeyed building.
This is followed by a visit to Amber Fort, eleven km away; enjoy an
elephant ride while trekking uphill. Indulge in lavish shopping at
Jaipur, which is famous for its traditional jewellery, unique
handicrafts, carpets, and textiles.
After a delicious lunch at a Palace Hotel, visit City Palace, home of
the erstwhile royal family, and Jantar Mantar, the largest observatory
built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. The Luxury coaches will take you
back to Palace on Wheels around 6.30 pm. Exclusive Dinner on Board.
Day -3 Friday Arrival 08.15 hrs.Dep.23.00 hrs
The desert city of
Jaisalmer was founded by Rawal Jaisal, in 1156A.D. Here visit
beautiful locations like the 12th century Jaisalmer Fort, Gadsisar
Lake, Nathmalji-ki-Haveli, Patwon -ki-Haveli, Salim Singh-ki-Haveli
and Jain Temple. Enjoy shopping for authentic handicrafts in
Government emporium, like mirror work, embroidered articles, wooden
boxes, trinkets, silver jewellery and much more. After an exotic lunch
on board, go for an adventurous camel ride on the sand dunes. Enjoy
delicious cuisine at night along with cultural programmes at a hotel
in Jaisalmer. The train leaves for Jodhpur at night.
Day -4 Saturday Arrival 07.00hrs.Dep.15.30 hrs
Next morning the Palace on
wheels reaches Jodhpur, the second largest city of Rajasthan, founded
by Rao Jodha in 1459 A.D. Visiting major tourist attractions like
Umaid Bhawan Palace, Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada built in 1899
A.D.
After an exotic lunch at a
royal Palace hotel, return to the Palace on Wheels. Later on visit
Girdikot and Sardar Market famous for a wide range of handicrafts and
enjoy shopping of exquisite handcrafted articles including embroidered
shoes, metal curios, silverware, paintings and tie and dye fabrics.
Day -5 Sunday Arrival 04.00hrs.Dep.10.30 hrs
Sawai Madhopur is named
after its founder Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I. After a refreshing
breakfast visit Ranthambhore National Park, which provides best
locations for observing and photographing the activities of the tiger.
The park is spread over an area of 392 sq.kms and is home to more than
300 species of birds and animals like Tigers, Sambhar, Cheetal, Wild
boar, Leopards, Sloth bear, and Jackal. Upon return to the Palace on
Wheels, leave for Chittaurgarh, Rajasthan, India.
Day -5 Sunday Arrival 16.00 hrs.
After lunch on board you
reach Chittaurgarh, Rajasthan. The city is famous for its glorious
fort, located on a 180-meter high hill. The fort includes several
historical monuments like Vijay Stambh, Kirti Stambh, Rana Kumbha's
Palace, Padmini Palace, Meera Bai's Temple and Kumbha Shyam Temple
etc.
Day -6 Monday Dep 05.30hrs from Chittaurgarh for Udaipur.
Arrive in Udaipur, the
Lake City at 7:30 AM. It was founded by Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar.
Visit Lake Pichola, the largest and the most beautiful of Udaipur's
lakes, Palaces like Jag Mahal and Jag Niwas, Sahelion Ki Bari, Gulab
Bagh (Rose garden) and the 18th century monsoon palace, Sajjangarh.
After lunch at Lake Palace Hotel enjoy a visit to City Palace, on the
banks of the Lake Pichola. In the evening visit the crystal gallery.
Later proceed to Bharatpur on board Palace on Wheels
Day -7 Tuesday Arrival 06.00 hrs.Dep.11.45 hrs
Next morning, Palace on
Wheels arrives at Bharatpur. A refreshing morning visit to Bharatpur,
which is popular for Keoladeo Ghana National Park known for its
migratory birds like Siberian Cranes. It is also the nesting place of
thousands of Egrets, migratory Water Fowl and other species of birds.
Day -7 Tuesday Arrival 14.30 hrs.Dep.23.00 hrs
Arrive at Fatehpur Sikri-the
red sandstone mini city founded by Mughal Emperor Akbar. It houses
several famous buildings like Buland Darwaja, Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas,
Panch Mahal, Jodhabai Palace, tomb of Saint Sheikh Salim Chishti, and
the Jama Masjid. After lunch visit Agra Fort and after that the
magnificent Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world, built by
Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal.
After a delicious dinner
on board and a comfortable night's sleep, arrive at Delhi Cantt.
Railway Station at 6.00 hrs the next morning. From Delhi you can take
flight for your next destination or for your native country.
